Speaking on the occasion, PM Shri Modi said, my vision is to provide roofs over the heads of every poor Indian by 2022, jobs to every youth, striking a balanced growth between towns and villages, improve the quality of life with all round development, and produce 175 Giga-watts of renewable energy.
PM Shri Modi said that man has exploited natural resources for centuries and now time has come to exploit renewable energy. A nation which once could not even discuss producing electricity in megawatts now aspires to be No.1 in renewable energy in Giga-watts. The sky is the upper limit.
PM Shri Modi said that his vision and mission is to provide a corruption-free clean government. He explained e-governance means easy and effective government. The majority of the people want change. The decisions taken by the Centre has delivered encouraging results. He said that his government intends to bring about reforms through change.
He exuded confidence that ‘Make in India’ would emerge as the country’s biggest business brand and India would become a significant global hub of investment for which different states are also busy achieving the goal, creating a healthy competition among them. He congratulated Team Gujarat for attracting maximum FDI.
PM Shri Modi thanked Japan and Canada for joining Gujarat Government’s VGGS in its first edition in 2003 as Country Partners, which has over the years assumed the sobriquet of ‘Davos of the East’ for making it a meeting ground for Summits. Taking a cue from International Kite Festival being held around the same time as VGGS, he wished the Summit gains further heights in future.
He released a coffee table book on ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit’ and ‘Policy Bulletin’ on the occasion. The film titled ‘India’s Economic Expressway’ was screened on multiple screens of the Mahatma Gandhi to the delight of all.
Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani in his welcome address wished all guests and delegates a happy sojourn in Gujarat during the Summit. He said that ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ is no more an event but has become a brand. He thanked the investors for making Gujarat economically strong. He said that entrepreneurship and pragmatism ingrained among the people have helped the policy-driven state excel in manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy and smart city concepts. The state has registered double-digit growth for years. It leads in providing maximum job opportunities. The youth who were once job-seekers have now become job-providers.

Kohli, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadanavis, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Pema KIhandu, Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitin Patel, other Ministers, Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh and senior officers of different departments.
